Splendoure Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 19, 2026
This page explains exactly how Splendoure collects, uses, and protects your personal information. We believe you have a right to know how your data is handled, and we aim to be as clear and transparent as possible.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Splendoure ("Splendoure", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website at splendoure.com, our mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the "Services").
This policy gives you information about our processing. Where we rely on consent for a particular activity, we request that consent separately and you may withdraw it as explained at the point of collection or by contacting us. Other processing may be necessary to perform our contract, meet legal obligations or pursue legitimate interests.
We keep this policy straightforward so you can clearly understand how your data is handled on Splendoure. If you have questions, contact us at support@splendoure.com.
Who we are
Splendoure is a social platform that connects adults through shared experiences including travel, dining, events, and companionship. Splendoure is operated by the Splendoure team. Our primary contact for data and privacy matters is support@splendoure.com.
Information we collect
Splendoure collects information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and in some cases, information from third-party sources.
Account and identity information
When you create a Splendoure account, we collect your name, username, email address, and password (stored in encrypted, hashed form). We also record your verification status, account settings, and evidence of your Terms acceptance, including the accepted version, time, IP address, and browser or device user agent.
Profile information
You choose what to include in your Splendoure profile. This may include photos, a bio, your date of birth, gender, sexual orientation, location, interests, relationship preferences, lifestyle details, and other personal attributes. You control what is displayed and to whom.
Verification data
If you separately consent and choose photo or government-ID verification, Didit captures and processes a live selfie and, for ID verification, your identity document. This may involve biometric liveness and face-match analysis, document validation, age confirmation, and device/IP fraud analysis. Splendoure receives and stores the verification result and limited audit metadata, not copies of the verification selfie or ID document.
Messages and content
When you use Splendoure's messaging features, we store the content of your messages, media you send, and associated metadata (such as time sent and read status). This is necessary to deliver the messaging service.
Location data
With your permission, your device provides GPS briefly so Splendoure can determine your approximate area for nearby discovery. We immediately round the coordinates to a broad area of about 10 kilometres and discard the exact coordinates. We store only the rounded area and, when available, your city and country. You can revoke location permission in your browser or device settings, but location-based access will stop until permission is restored.
Usage and device data
We automatically collect information about how you use Splendoure, including pages visited, features used, actions taken, time spent, device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and crash reports. This data helps us improve the Services.
Cookies and similar technologies
Splendoure's web platform uses cookies and similar technologies for session management, authentication, and analytics. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.
How Splendoure uses your information
Splendoure uses the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your Splendoure account and profile.
- To provide discovery and matching features that connect you with compatible members.
- To enable group creation, participation, and all related social features.
- To operate and deliver Splendoure's messaging and communication features.
- To verify your identity and maintain the integrity of the Splendoure community.
- To moderate content, detect fraud, and enforce Splendoure's community guidelines.
- To send you important account notifications, security alerts, and service updates.
- To analyse usage patterns and improve the performance and design of Splendoure.
- To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
Depending on the activity, our legal bases include consent, performance of our contract with you, legitimate interests such as safety and fraud prevention, and legal obligations. We do not treat acceptance of the Terms of Use as consent for optional processing.
Data retention
Splendoure retains your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your Splendoure account, we delete your profile, photos, messages, and associated data. We may retain limited data for safety, legal compliance, contract evidence, or dispute resolution purposes, including a record of the Terms version you accepted. Verification media processed by Didit is retained according to the verification retention settings and applicable legal requirements; you may contact us to exercise deletion rights. See our Delete Account page for full details on what is removed and what may be retained.
Your rights and choices
Splendoure gives you meaningful control over your personal information:
- Access and update your profile information at any time in the Splendoure app.
- Control your profile visibility and who can discover you using Splendoure's privacy settings.
- Enable incognito mode to browse profiles without appearing in discovery.

Security
Splendoure uses industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. All data transmitted between your device and Splendoure is encrypted using HTTPS and TLS. Data is stored with encryption at rest by our hosting providers. Didit captures and processes verification media in its secure verification flow; Splendoure does not store copies of the verification selfie or ID document. Profile photos are optimised for delivery via secure CDN. While we take significant steps to protect your data, no security system is completely infallible. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your login credentials confidential.
